Bigg Boss 20 is set for a change of host this weekend, with filmmaker Rohit Shetty stepping in for Salman Khan on Weekend Ka Vaar. Salman announced the temporary change during the latest episode, explaining that a prior professional commitment would keep him away from the reality show.

Speaking to the contestants, Salman revealed that he had personally asked Rohit to take charge of the upcoming weekend episode.

He told the housemates, “I won’t be meeting you next week. Due to a prior commitment, I will not be here next week. So I have requested Rohit Shetty to come here and host the next Weekend Ka Vaar.”

Salman also left the contestants with a warning about the filmmaker’s arrival, saying, “Whatever you want to do, go ahead and do it if you enjoy playing with danger. I will see you the week after next.”

Rohit Shetty returns to Bigg Boss as host

Rohit is no stranger to the Bigg Boss house. The filmmaker has previously stepped in to host Weekend Ka Vaar episodes when Salman was unavailable. He also appeared on Bigg Boss 19 last year, interacting with contestants Gaurav Khanna and Farrhana Bhatt.

Known for directing action entertainers such as ‘Singham’, ‘Simmba’ and ‘Sooryavanshi’, Rohit has also hosted several seasons of the stunt-based reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi. His return to Bigg Boss has raised expectations about how he will address the contestants and the tensions building inside the house.

Meanwhile, discussions around contestant Mahhi Vij have gained traction on social media, with some viewers calling for the makers to take action against her. It remains to be seen whether Rohit will address the issue during his stint as host.

The latest Weekend Ka Vaar episode also ended Aman Gandhi’s journey on the show. The actor’s eviction left fellow contestants Arishfa Khan and Uditi Singh emotional, with both breaking down in tears after Salman announced the result.

Aman’s departure adds another development to a season marked by shifting alliances, disagreements and growing rivalries among the housemates. Viewers will now be watching to see how the contestants respond to Rohit’s hosting style in Salman’s absence.

The hosting change comes amid renewed attention on security concerns surrounding Bollywood personalities following a shooting incident involving actor Tiger Shroff in Mumbai’s Juhu area on October 18, 2026. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack, while police investigations into the incident continue. Mumbai Police have also stepped up security at the residences of several film industry figures, including Salman Khan and Rohit Shetty, as a precaution.
