Labubu dolls might be trending as the latest fashion accessory across social media, but not everyone’s a fan, especially comedian and actor Bharti Singh.

In a recent vlog, Bharti shared how she believed the quirky-looking doll was behind her son Gola’s sudden change in behaviour.

The doll, known for its ugly-cute vibe, has found its way into the hands (and handbags) of several celebrities and influencers. But Bharti had other things to say.

In the video, Bharti is seen talking to her son Gola, who appears restless. Pointing at the toy, she says, “Today I will burn your Labubu doll, the reason behind your restlessness and naughty behaviour.”

Naturally, little Gola was not thrilled. “No, please, don’t do that. He is my friend,” he says. But Bharti remains convinced, replying, “Woh shaitaan hai Gole (It’s the devil).”

Turning to her viewers, she declares, “Guys, aaj Labubu jalne wala hai (We will burn his Labubu doll today). I have heard it is not nice to keep.”

Bharti also shared that many of her close friends had warned her against keeping the doll.

“Ever since we have got him the Labubu doll, he has lost his patience. He keeps yelling and shouting and breaking things around,” she said.

“Looking at his behaviour, people have been telling me the doll is the cause. Even Jasmin (Bhasin) told me it was evil. Many people told me that the doll doesn’t have a good vibe to it. My sister is so scared of the doll. The other day, I went to her house with the doll, and she was like: ‘Why did you get this here?’ She told me, ‘The doll brings negativity to people’s house.’ She called it bhoot-pret (ghost).”

At one point in the vlog, Gola is heard saying, “Yeh maarta hai mujhe (He beats me).”

When Bharti makes her move to destroy the toy, her husband Harsh intervenes: “What are you doing?” She replies, “Just ending its existence.”

Harsh can’t help but laugh and responds, “How can you be so superstitious?”

Bharti admits, “I might be one. But many of my friends are of the same opinion. They say this doll is evil.”

She attempts to burn the doll using a matchstick but fails multiple times, which clearly unsettles her. The failed attempts prompt a quick detour into horror movie chatter. Eventually, they manage to set it ablaze after wrapping it in newspaper.

Bharti also said, “Many of my friends told me Labubu is shaitaan. Throw it out of your house, or burn it down. They even advised me to break it or cut it into pieces. I finally burnt it.”

However, as she winds down the video, Bharti appears more relaxed, “I don’t think this is true about Labubu dolls. People scared me.”

She then turns to her husband and jokingly warns him not to fall for viral trends again. He grins and teases her back, “Main 3 aur order kar raha hu (I am ordering three more).”
