Actor Basil Joseph and family shared a memorable evening with Mammootty on Instagram, capturing selfies and heartfelt moments with the veteran actor.

Hyderabad: Actor and filmmaker Basil Joseph took to his official Instagram account on Sunday to share photos of a memorable evening spent with veteran actor Mammootty alongside his family.
In one photo, Basil’s daughter, Hope Elizabeth Basil, can be seen giving Mammootty a peck on the cheek. Another image shows Basil posing with the actor, accompanied by his wife and daughter.
Sharing the pictures, Basil wrote a heartfelt note, describing the evening. "Had the rare privilege of spending an evening with a legend.
It was overwhelming in the most gentle, heavenly way,a moment our family will cherish forever.
When my little daughter looked up at him and innocently asked, “What’s your name?”, he smiled and simply said, “Mammootty.That humble reply etched itself into our hearts as a core memory for a lifetime."
Basil also revealed that Mammootty took pictures on his own camera, with Hope and the actor enjoying numerous selfies together. “He even took pictures on his own camera, and Hoppey and Mammookka clicked countless selfies together.For a couple of hours, he somehow made us forget who he is to the world ,and made us feel as if we were just sitting with a close friend. That kind of grace and warmth is beyond words.”
Basil Joseph was last seen in a cameo in Sathyan Anthikad-Mohanlal’s Hridayapoorvam. He is set to make his Tamil debut with Sivakarthikeyan-starrer 'Parasakthi', directed by Sudha Kongara, which is scheduled to release on January 14 2026.
Mammootty, recently seen lending his voice in 'Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra', has 'Kalamkaval' and 'Patriot' in various stages of production.
