BMC has recommended blacklisting Aditya Dhar’s B62 Studios after alleged safety and permission violations during the shooting of Dhurandhar 2 in Mumbai. Mumbai Police have also filed an FIR over unauthorized drone usage.

Mumbai: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has recommended blacklisting filmmaker Aditya Dhar’s B62 Studios after multiple alleged safety and regulatory violations during the filming of Dhurandhar 2 in South Mumbai.
According to civic officials, the recommendation was made by the BMC’s A-ward office after repeated breaches of filming rules and safety norms were reported during the production.
Officials said the production team used lit torches (mashals) during shooting in a high-security zone, which reportedly prompted intervention by the Mumbai Police. The equipment was later seized.
Reports also suggest that the crew changed filming locations and used a building terrace without obtaining the required permissions from civic authorities.
In addition, two generator vans were allegedly operated on-site without valid approvals, further adding to the list of violations.
BMC proposes strict action
Following the incidents, the BMC has sent a formal recommendation to the Deputy Municipal Commissioner (DMC) proposing that B62 Studios be permanently barred from accessing Maharashtra’s single-window shooting permission portal.
Authorities have already forfeited the studio’s ₹25,000 security deposit and proposed an additional ₹1 lakh fine.
While the production house has not yet been officially blacklisted, the proposal has reportedly moved forward for further administrative action.
FIR filed over drone use in Fort area
In a related development, Mumbai Police registered a case against the film’s location manager after a drone was allegedly flown without permission in the high-security Fort area of South Mumbai.
The FIR, filed at MRA Marg Police Station on February 1, names location manager Rinku Rajpal Valmiki under Section 223 of the Indian Penal Code for allegedly violating official orders.
Police said the drone was used during filming without securing the mandatory clearances, which is considered a serious violation in restricted zones.
