The highly acclaimed Asif Ali-Thamar film ‘Sarkeet’ has been chosen for the Indian Panorama section of the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI). One of 25 Indian films selected for this prestigious category, Circuit will be screened in Goa from November 20 to 28.

Produced by Vinayaka Ajith under Ajith Vinayaka Films and co-produced by Florin Dominic of Action Films,  Sarkeet was shot entirely in Gulf countries. The film explores a deep friendship that the world initially deemed impossible, earning strong audience appreciation following its OTT release.

Asif Ali plays the lead, with child artist Orhan portraying another key character. Other prominent actors include Divya Prabha, Deepak Parambol, Ramya Suresh, Prashanth Alexander, Swathidas Prabhu, Gopan Adat, and Sins Shan. Through the central characters, Aamir and Jeffron, the director depicts a realistic portrayal of the personal and emotional struggles faced by expatriates.

This marks another milestone for director Thamar KV, whose debut film Aayirathonnu Nunakal also received critical and audience acclaim after its OTT release on SonyLIV and screenings at the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK). Sarkeet was filmed across multiple Gulf locations, including the UAE, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah, showcasing both scenic visuals and the challenges of life abroad.

The film’s technical team, including cinematographer Ayas Hasan, music director Govind Vasantha, editor Sangeeth Prathap, and art director Aravind Viswanathan, contribute to the film’s immersive experience. With a strong production design, realistic costumes, meticulous makeup, and seamless visual effects, Circuit successfully brings the emotional depth of expatriate life to the screen.

The selection of Sarkeet for IFFI’s Indian Panorama further cements Asif Ali and Thamar’s reputation for producing films that resonate with audiences while highlighting socially relevant themes.
