Acclaimed composer A R Rahman in a recent interview to a private media channel shared details about the Grammy Awards process and revealed why the soundtrack of the award-winning film Aadujeevitham was not considered for nomination.
The film, which has made space in the history of Malayalam cinema for its long shooting schedule and Prithviraj’s remarkable body transformation, features a soundtrack composed by Rahman. However, despite the film's promising music, Rahman explained that the soundtrack was rejected due to a technicality. He revealed that the song fell just a minute short of the required duration for Grammy consideration.
He revealed that the Aadujeevitham soundtrack was submitted for the Grammys, but it did not meet the specified criteria. He further added that there are certain criteria for Grammy and Oscar awards which has to be 100 percent fulfilled. Only if all elements align perfectly for submission it would be considered.
Rahman mentioned plans to submit Ponniyin Selvan Part 2 to the Grammys, but due to some challenges, they were unable to send it. He clarified that all of this can be done only if everything comes together.
The celebrated composer, who recently scored for Dhanush's film Raayan, has several upcoming projects, including music compositions for Chhaava, Thug Life and Gandhi Talks.
