After her Instagram posts went viral, Anupama Parameswaran has now responded to the breakup rumours surrounding her. While many social media users linked her emotional posts to rumours of a breakup with actor Dhruv Vikram, the actress has now clarified that people are reading too much into her social media.

The speculation began after Anupama returned to Instagram following a break and shared a series of posts about healing, freedom and choosing herself.

Around the same time, fans noticed that she had unfollowed Dhruv Vikram, adding fuel to rumours that the two had ended their alleged relationship.

Speaking at the teaser launch of her upcoming film ‘Crazy Kalyanam’, Anupama dismissed the assumptions surrounding her posts. According to Cinema Express, she said they reflected her personal thoughts rather than being directed at any individual.

"It's my social media account. I decide what to post. I was not venting out. I was just talking about a transition of a woman. And I feel proud that I did that," she said.

The actress also questioned why people believed they could draw conclusions about her personal life based solely on what she shared online.

"What do you know about me? What do you know about my life? So, it's okay. It is our Instagram, and we post whatever we like," she added.

Anupama went on to speak about embracing a new phase in life and enjoying the freedom to make her own choices.

"I no longer need anyone's permission for every decision in my life. I can go wherever I want. I can share the things I like. Now I feel like I am living a very free life," she said.

"Right now, I am very happy and calm. I have faced many tough situations in my life this year. But now I am very calm mentally. I feel that this calmness would have been better if it had come earlier," she shared.

Why the rumours started

For the past few years, Anupama and Dhruv Vikram have frequently been linked together, especially after they worked on Mari Selvaraj's ‘Bison Kaalamaadan’. Although reports have repeatedly claimed they were in a relationship, neither actor has ever confirmed the speculation.

The latest round of rumours gained momentum after Anupama's reflective Instagram posts, followed by fans noticing that she had unfollowed Dhruv on the platform.

Adding to the discussion, Anupama had earlier reacted with a laughing emoji to a social media post that read, "Finding out your man is a bitch is the worst gender reveal."

She also interacted with another post carrying a similar theme, leading some users to connect her online activity with the breakup rumours. Others, however, believe her posts simply reflect general life experiences and should not be interpreted as references to her personal life.

On the work front, Anupama will next be seen in ‘Crazy Kalyanam’, directed by Badrappa Gajula. The romantic family entertainer also stars Naresh, Tarun Bhascker and Akhil Uddemari in key roles. Her last Malayalam release was ‘Pet Detective’
