Veteran actor Anupam Kher is all set to return to the director’s chair with ‘Tanvi The Great’, and the film now has an official release date.

Marking a significant milestone in his illustrious career, Kher’s much-anticipated directorial venture is gearing up for a theatrical release this July. Touted to be a heartwarming and inspirational drama, ‘Tanvi The Great’ has already piqued curiosity among fans and industry insiders alike.

The makers of ‘Tanvi The Great’, on Wednesday, announced that the film will be released in cinema halls on July 18.

The announcement was made exactly a month before the film’s worldwide theatrical release. ‘Tanvi The Great’ has already been screened at prestigious international film festivals, including the recently concluded Cannes Film Festival, where it was received with an overwhelming response.

‘Tanvi The Great’ features a stellar ensemble cast with debutante Shubhangi Dutt leading in the titular role. She is joined by Scottish actor Iain Glen (best known for ‘Resident Evil’ and ‘Game of Thrones’), Boman Irani, Jackie Shroff, Nasser, Arvind Swami, Karan Tacker, and Pallavi Joshi. Also joining the cast in a pivotal role is the film’s director, Anupam, himself.

For music, Anupam has got Academy Award-winner MM Keeravani on board.

‘Tanvi The Great’ is produced by Anupam Kher Studios in collaboration with the National Film Development Corporation of India (NDFC) and will be distributed by Anil Thadani’s AA Films.

It has been co-written by Ankur Suman, Abhishek Dixit, and Anupam, while the cinematography is done by Keiko Nakahara.

‘Tanvi The Great’ was announced by Anupam on his 69th birthday, on March 7, 2024. It marks his second directorial venture after his 2002 film 'Om Jai Jagadish'.

The upcoming movie officially went on floors on March 8, 2024, on the occasion of Mahashivratri.

As per reports, ‘Tanvi The Great’ is touted to be a musical story which was in writing for nearly three years.

Its world premiere was held at Marché du Film, also known as the Cannes Film Market.
