Antony Varghese Pepe has made history by becoming the first actor in Indian cinema to obtain a professional boxing license. The actor, best known for his roles in Malayalam cinema, will take part in a highly anticipated match against Achu Baby John, the son of former minister Shibu Baby John, at the D Professional Boxing Fight Night on January 26 at Lulu Mall in Kochi.

Ahead of the match, Antony was officially handed his professional boxing license by Joy George, President of the Kerala Boxing Council, at a ceremony marking his new venture into the sport. The event is jointly organised by the Indian Boxing Council, the official arm of the World Boxing Council in India, and the Kerala Boxing Council.
