Pratap Pothen received the much-deserved Kerala State Film Award – Special Jury Award in 2014 for his 100th film ‘Once Upon A Time There Was A Kallan’. He played the character named Ousepachan in the movie directed by Fazil Kattungal which earned him the award.
Pothen gave life to the 75-year-old character in the movie by sprinkling his personal touch in the way of talking and gait of the character. Ousepachan proved to be a challenging role for Pothen.
He had said that the strong outlook of director Fazil Kattungal about the character is what drew him to the movie.
