After delivering the action-packed spectacle ‘Thallumaala,’ director Khalid Rahman returns with a genre shift in ‘Alappuzha Gymkhana,’ a sports comedy headlined by ‘Premalu’ sensation Naslen Gafoor. The film, which released in theatres on April 10, 2025, follows a group of mischievous college students who fake their way in through a boxing quota—only to end up forced into real training after their deception is uncovered by their no-nonsense coach.

The film has already made waves among young viewers, with the trailer amassing over five million views ahead of release. Set against the backdrop of Alappuzha, the coming-of-age comedy features an ensemble of emerging talents including Ganapathi, Lukman Avaran, Sandeep Pradeep, Anagha Ravi, and Franco Francis.

‘Alappuzha Gymkhana’ is backed by Plan B Motion Pictures and Realistic Studio, with technical contributions from a seasoned crew—Jimshi Khalid handles cinematography, Vishnu Vijay scores the music, and Vishnu Govind takes charge of sound design. The film is co-written by Srinee Sashindran with dialogues penned by Ratheesh Ravi. Central Pictures is handling distribution.

Initial responses for the movie are largely positive, with viewers praising its humour, youthful energy, and Naslen's charismatic performance.
