Chennai: Actress and former Bigg Boss Tamil contestant Gabriella Charlton has voiced her frustration over persistent objectification on social media, stating she’s been subjected to unwanted attention and abuse “for no fault of her own.”

Sharing a candid message through her Instagram story, the young actress expressed her growing discomfort and anger toward the online toxicity.

“I know I've addressed this multiple times, but here we go again: Is it just me, or does social media feel like an unsafe place? I'm constantly objectified — for no fault of my own,” she wrote.

Gabriella also questioned the constant sexualisation of regular content she posts. “What's so provocative about a travel vlog or a GRWM video? Why must everything be sexualized? Why must I be sexualized? Is that all I am to you?” she asked, challenging the perception of online viewers.

Refusing to be broken by the negativity, she stated, “You don't get to make me feel small. I'm not giving you that power.”

Taking a firm stand against those who leave abusive comments, she added, “And don't even get me started on the verbal abuse and lewd comments. Some of you truly disgust me. Hiding behind a screen doesn't make you bold — it just makes you a coward.”

Gabriella, known for her impressive dance performances and early TV appearances, gained widespread recognition after her participation in the Tamil reality show Bigg Boss. She also played a key role in Samuthirakani’s critically appreciated film Appa.

Her most recent outing was Varunan, an action drama directed by Jayavelmurugan, in which she starred alongside Dushyanth Jayaprakash. The film, produced by Karthick Sreedharan, released in March this year.
