Ajith also reflected on his family life, admitting that his racing and film schedules often keep him away from his children

Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar, who balances a successful film career with his passion for racing, has spoken about his long struggle with insomnia and the personal sacrifices he makes for his profession.
Currently participating in the 24-hour endurance race in Barcelona, Spain, Ajith said the international challenge is testing his resilience, mental toughness, and physical fitness.
In an interview with India Today, Ajith candidly shared, “I have trouble sleeping. I can't sleep well for more than four hours at a time. Even on flights, I try to rest as little as possible.”
The actor added that the sleep disorder has kept him away from watching films and web series despite his interest. “While I fully support the rapid expansion of Indian content to the international audience, my personal challenge is not being able to enjoy it due to a lack of time,” he said.
Ajith also reflected on his family life, admitting that his racing and film schedules often keep him away from his children, Anushka and Aaditya. He credited his wife Shalini for being his strongest support system through these challenges.
“There are so many things that Shalini is handling. If not for her support, I wouldn’t be able to do all this. Looking after the home, the children when I am away – it is not just sacrifice on my side. The children hardly get to see me, and I miss them as much as they miss me. These are the things that are never seen or understood. But when you love something so dearly, you have to make your sacrifices,” he said.
On the work front, the actor is gearing up for his next big project AK64, directed by Adhik Ravichandran, which is already generating high anticipation among fans.
