Thiruvananthapuram: 63 movies including the Malayalam movie ‘Aavasavyuham’ will be screened at the 26th edition of the International Film Festival of Kerala on Saturday. Kamila Andini’s ‘Yuni’, Russian movie ‘Captain Volkonogov Escaped’, Tamil movie ‘Koozhangal’, Argentinian movie ‘Camila Comes Out Tonight’, Mounia Akl’s ‘Costa Brava, Lebanon’ and Swedish movie ‘Clara Sola’ by Nathalie Álvarez Mesén are the other films that are to be screened in the competition category.
The premiere show of ‘Language of the Mountains’ by Lisa Calan who lost both her legs in an attack by IS will be held on the second day of IFFK 2022. The movie portrays the story of the survival of the Kurdish people set against the backdrop of a school.
38 films including the Romanian movie ‘Miracol’ that revolves around the unexpected events in the life of a nun, Ballad of a White Cow showing the story of an Iranian woman fighting for justice after her husband’s death, French film ‘Mali Twist’ directed by Robert Guédiguian, and Israeli film ‘Ahed’s Knee’ have been included in the World cinema category.
17 Indian movies including Aparna Sen’s ‘The Rapist’ will be screened on Saturday. Amitabha Chatterji’s ‘Into the Mist’ and Madhuja Mukherjee’s ‘Deep 6’ are also included in this list.
