Mumbai: Actress Kajol on Friday marked 27 years since the release of her psychological thriller 'Gupt', sharing a pair of throwback photographs to commemorate the occasion.

The first image showed Kajol in a chilling solo still, while the second captured her embracing co-star Bobby Deol. “27 years to being killer full-time! Still don’t get the why but so ok with the what,” she captioned the post.

Directed by Rajiv Rai, Gupt starred Kajol, Deol and Manisha Koirala in the lead, alongside Prem Chopra, Raza Murad, Paresh Rawal, Sadashiv Amrapurkar, Sharat Saxena, Dalip Tahil, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Om Puri, Raj Babbar, Mukesh Rishi, Priya Tendulkar and Aparajita in pivotal roles.

The story is believed to be inspired by the 1967 mystery novel 'Good Children Don’t Kill' by French author Louis Thomas. Produced by Gulshan Rai and Rajiv Rai under the Trimurti Films banner, the film featured music by Viju Shah, with Rajiv Rai also serving as editor and Ashok Mehta as cinematographer.

Released on 15 August 1997, 'Gupt' remains etched in the memory of Indian filmgoers.

Kajol will next reprise her role as Noyonika Sengupta in the second season of the courtroom drama 'The Trial: Pyaar, Kanoon, Dhokha'.
