Thrissur: Filmmaker and producer Antony Eastman passed away here on Saturday. He was 75. Antony was also popular as a writer and still photographer. According to reports, he died of cardiac arrest in Thrissur. His funeral will be held later.

Antony who started his career as a photographer gained popularity as Eastman Antony after establishing a studio named Eastman.

He directed 6 films in Malayalam. He made his directorial debut with ‘Inayethedi’. This movie introduced many people including popular actress Silk Smitha and music director Johnson to the industry.

‘Vayal’, ‘Ambada Njaane’, ‘Varnatheru’, ‘Ice Cream’ and ‘Mridula’ are the other movies.

‘Amabada Njaane’ starring Shankar, Menaka, Nedumudi Venu and Thilakan was his most popular movie.

Antony penned the story of ‘Ee Thanalil Ithiri Neram’ and ‘Thaskara Veeran’. He produced a movie titled ‘Parvathiparinayam’.
