The much-anticipated film Patriot is having its theatrical release today, and excitement among fans is reaching a peak. Advance bookings for the film, which brings together veteran actors Mammootty and Mohanlal alongside a host of younger stars, are reportedly selling out fast.

Adding to the buzz, a video call between Mammootty and Mohanlal ahead of the release has gone viral on social media. Fellow actor Kunchacko Boban also joined the interaction. The live video call was streamed via Mammootty’s Instagram account.

Mohanlal, who is currently in the United States for stage performances, joined the call from New York, while Mammootty and Kunchacko Boban participated from Kerala. During the conversation, all three actors shared their plans to watch the film in theatres. Mammootty mentioned that he might travel to Dubai on Friday morning to catch a screening there, while Kunchacko Boban said he would be in Bengaluru and intended to watch it there.

At one point, Mohanlal enthusiastically asked Mammootty, “Isn’t this the film where we are coming together after a long time?” He added that the film would release around 11:30 p.m. in the US and that he planned to watch it then. When Kunchacko Boban jokingly asked who the hero of Patriot was, Mammootty replied that it was Kunchacko Boban himself. Mohanlal, however, remarked that everyone in the film is both hero and villain.

Kunchacko Boban also observed that this would be the first time Gen Z audiences would see Mammootty and Mohanlal share the screen in theatres. In response, Mohanlal quipped, “Hasn’t Gen Alpha arrived after Gen Z?” When Kunchacko Boban replied, “Them too,” it prompted laughter among the trio. Mohanlal further noted that the film’s story would appeal to younger audiences as well.

The video has already garnered over 2.7 million views on Instagram, with thousands of fans commenting on the interaction. The clip also features the actors responding to some of these comments, further delighting viewers.
