It is a responsibility to bring up children by bestowing love and care. If one does not feel the confidence to carry out this duty properly, that person should not have a kid at all - the notion put forward by the movie 'Sara’s' has taken up by social media now. 'Sara’s' directed by Jude Anthony discusses the visions of a woman to build her life and the questions and sceptical attitude of society over it. The movie sheds light on those women who sacrifices their aspirations under societal pressures.
Anna Ben who played the title role in 'Sara’s' had shared her views on the new kind of Malayalam movies and the evolving subject matters discussed in it. Anna Ben feels delighted as she is receiving positive reviews and appreciations for both the movie and the character she played.
“ People including friends, relatives and many anonymous people have been giving positive comments on the movie. Many of them told me that they could relate the story to their life,” said Anna.
People who faced the questions about their pregnancy plans just after the marriage and those who had put off such plans phoned me and talked about the movie, she added.
Anna Ben found the story interesting as Jude told her that Sara is an unconventional girl who hates children and openly declares that she does not want to give birth to a child.
“But I had certain doubts about the movie. But the director had perfect clarity on each scene. He was successful to convey the idea to the audience in the right sense. This is not a story of a girl who cannot put up with children, but it stands for the freedom to choose. Sara is a girl with her own personal choices and plans which she's not intending to sacrifice for the people around her. Sara reminds that one should not live on the string according to the whims and fancies of others,” Anna explained.
Anna was excited to talk about her father who played the role of Sara's father in the movie. She says that there is no much difference in the bond between the father and daughter in real life.
Anna was the one who took decisions about her career and her entry into the film industry. But in times of crisis, she always relies on her father just like Sara.
My parents never told me that I should live as per their directions. This freedom helped me to have the strength to take my own decisions, said the young actress.
Anna also opened up about the shooting of 'Saras' amid the Covid restrictions.
With limited crew members, all the guidelines were followed in all locations including theatre, hospital and metro train. The audience may not feel that the movie was actually shot in such a time, said Anna.
Anna rose to fame by playing bold characters in Malayalam movies. According to Anna, all the roles were mere coincidence. But she is always keen on choosing her characters and glad that the audience receives them well.
