Mollywood’s lady superstar Manju Warrier has taken up a new job in the industry apart from acting. She has turned producer for her latest movie ‘Chathurmukham’.
For the actress, the producer's role is a new experiment in her career.
‘Kayattam’ directed by Sanal Kumar Sasidharan was the first movie co-produced by Manju Warrier.
The movie has received a good response in international film festivals. ‘Lalitham Sundaram’ is the third movie produced by the actress under the banner of her own production house named Manju Warrier Productions.
“I have decided to co-produce the movies after becoming part of some good movies. I became confident to turn a producer because of having trust and hope in the projects. I think, the producer’s role is a new experiment in my career,” Manju opened up.
The actress who made her acting debut at the age of 16 has become an inevitable part of the Malayalam film industry within 26 years.
Having a dream run in the film industry, she expressed her unbridled passion for films.
“As a producer, people around me always stood by me in strong support. Actually, I didn’t face any challenge or tension with their support. They are handing everything with perfection. Definitely, film production has some risks and responsibilities. We accept everything trusting our film,” said Manju.
The ‘Lucifer’ actress revealed that she did not think about producing a movie in the early period of her career.
“I started to seriously think about film production when I co-produced ‘Kayattam’ last year. Frankly speaking, nothing is planned in my life. I didn’t plan anything and decide as per it. In that sense, I consider film production as a new experiment in my life,” added the actress.
“‘Kayattam has received good response in film festivals including IFFK. ‘Lalitham Sundaram’ is another production venture. It is a feel-good family entertainer. Meanwhile, ‘Chathurmukham’ is a techno horror. I’m really proud to say that I have produced movies which belong to different genres. But my experiments with the film industry will be completed, once the people watch these movies. I’m eagerly waiting for their response,” she pointed out.
As a producer, Manju is very ambitious to mark her signature in the industry.
“I want to produce the best movies which the people are craving to watch. I only have such small wishes. So far, I have not thought about any big project or strategy as a producer. Let’s hope for the best,” Manju said with a confident smile.
