Actor Joju George is thrilled about his debut as a director as he marks 28 years in the film industry.

"Acting is one of the things I enjoy the most. I have equally enjoyed directing, even though sometimes it's a little stressful," says Joju.

His directorial movie 'Pani' was shot for 100 days in and around Thrissur. Joju himself plays the lead role opposite Abhinaya in the movie. The film is produced by M Riaz Adam and Sijo Vadakkan under the banner of Joju's own production company, 'Appu Pathu Pappu Productions' and AD Studios. The music is done by Vishnu Vijay.

George, who made his debut in Malayalam as a junior artist in 1995, had to overcome many ups and downs in his career. He breathed life into both minor and major characters, whether as a supporting actor or a villain, prior to emerging as one of the prominent figures in the field.

The movie ‘Joseph’, released in 2018, was a breakthrough in his career. Later, through ‘Chola’, a psychological drama, Joju won the hearts of the Malayali audience.

He won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Character Actor of the Year for his performances in ‘Joseph’ and ‘Chola’ and a special mention at the National Film Award (Joseph). Joju has received many awards for the film 'Joseph'. Apart from acting, Joju has produced excellent films.
