The fallout between Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal refuses to fade, and now, a Bollywood actress has added a fresh twist to the already buzzing saga.

While speculation around the cricketer-composer duo spiralled into everything from medical emergencies to cheating whispers, the actress, Daisy Shah, has chosen to walk a careful line, refusing to jump to conclusions despite being professionally linked to Palash.

Interestingly, the drama didn’t just stay personal; it spilled into work territory, too. Shah, in a recent interview, revealed that Palash avoided reaching out to her directly for his upcoming directorial project.

Instead, she received multiple calls from unknown people pitching the film on his behalf, something she found odd, given her close bond with his sister, Palak Muchhal.

Sensing something was off, Shah cut through the noise and messaged Palash herself. His response? A telling one. He admitted the project was real but said he had been holding back from contacting people personally due to the “situation lately,” hinting at the storm surrounding his personal life.

Despite the awkward start, things eventually moved forward professionally, with Daisy agreeing to hear the narration and showing interest in the project.

What stands out, however, is her stance on the controversy. In a space where opinions fly thick and fast, Daisy made it clear she isn’t picking sides. She stressed that outsiders rarely know the full truth and warned against forming judgments based purely on media chatter.

At the same time, she was careful not to dismiss any perspective, maintaining that she was simply choosing neutrality in a situation involving two families.

Shah said, “I can switch off from personal life to professional life, and I don’t think your personal life should affect your professional life. First of all, I don’t know what the actual story is. There are always two sides to a coin. We really don’t know what went wrong because it is between two families, and we are sitting here and judging from what we heard from the media houses. We don’t know what the actual truth is, and that doesn’t mean that I am nullifying the woman's side of the story. I’m just being neutral. Also, he contacted me on a professional level. So, who am I to even judge a book by its cover?”

And in a surprising emotional note, she admitted she still roots for the former couple, saying they made a “lovely pair” and expressing hope that things might eventually fall back into place.

Meanwhile, the backstory remains as dramatic as ever. Smriti and Palash were all set to marry on November 23, before a sudden medical emergency involving Smriti’s father brought celebrations to a halt. Soon after, Palash himself was hospitalised—fueling further speculation.

As rumours of infidelity began doing the rounds, Palash addressed the chatter with a strongly worded note, calling out “baseless gossip” and announcing his decision to step away from the relationship.

The situation escalated further when eagle-eyed fans noticed the two had unfollowed each other on Instagram, often the final nail in the coffin for celebrity relationships.
