Social media influencer Orry has spoken about his strained relationship with Sara Ali Khan. The two were reportedly childhood friends, but their equation changed following a series of disagreements involving Sara and her mother, Amrita Singh.

Orry discussed the fallout during an appearance on Double Date, hosted by Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi. Asked by Neha to name the most famous person he had unfollowed on social media, he answered, "Sara Ali Khan." When she pressed him for a reason, he said, "I'm very public about it. Her mother scolded me a lot, so I unfollowed her too."

He then spoke at length about why the friendship had left him disappointed. According to Orry, he had known Sara since childhood and had remained close to her even after their college years. He also recalled standing by her during a difficult period in her life.

"There are fake friendships. This girl was my childhood friend. We were friends through college and then even 10 years after college. I was there for her through so much. We were in Goa when she got into a big case. I stood by her through all of that, never left her side. But for one time in life when she had to be there for me, she disappeared."

Orry said the lack of support during his own difficult phase made him reconsider the friendship. He felt that the loyalty he had shown Sara was not reciprocated when he needed her.

"In that moment, it was such a tough phase for me, and she didn't check on me once or call me once. I was like, when your life was under fire, and everyone told me to leave her side and not get caught up, I stood by her side. I took care of you, your mother and your brother and stood by them. And when the tables flipped, and you had to be there with me for once, you couldn't even give me a phone call. I just thought if I pretended to be friends with you, then whatever you did and whatever abuses your mother threw at me and said about me to others, it made that okay. And it's not okay, and I never got an apology after that."

The public fallout between the two had drawn attention in August 2025, when Orry posted birthday pictures of Sara that some social media users felt were unflattering. The situation became more talked about after he shared a reel titled "3 worst names", mentioning "Sara", "Amrita" and "Palak" without their surnames.

Sara and her brother Ibrahim Ali Khan subsequently unfollowed Orry on Instagram, prompting speculation about a rift. Orry also made remarks about Sara's acting career on social media, adding to the conversation around their friendship.

This is not the first time Orry has addressed the issue. In a January 2026, he said that reconciling with Sara would be difficult unless the concerns he had raised about her mother's behaviour were addressed. He had also indicated that an apology from Amrita Singh could make him reconsider his position.

"If Amrita Singh were to apologise, I could maybe see myself letting it go in the future," he had said.
