Subhash Chandran is a novelist and short story writer. He was born in 1972 in Kadungalloor near Aluva. In 1994, he completed PG in Malayalam with first rank. Currently, he works as chief sub-editor in Mathrubhumi Weekly.

He won first prize for his first short story ‘Ghatikarangal Nilaykkunna Samayam’ in a competition instituted by Mathrubhumi Vishupathippu, which earned him fame in the industry. English translation of his first novel ‘Manushyanu Oru Aamukham’ won Crossword Book Award.

India Today selected him as one of the 20 young talents of Malayalam. The Week selected him as one of the 50 young talents of India who excelled in various avenues. He was the only Malayalam writer to feature in the list of outstanding young Indian writers compiled by The Times of India.

He has won many honours including Kerala Sahitya Akademi award, Kendra Sahitya Akademi award, Vayalar award, Ankanam - EP Sushama Endowment award, V.P. Sivakumar-Keli award, Odakkuzhal Award and Kovilan award.

His noted works include Ghatikarangal Nilakkunna Samayam, Parudeesa Nashtam, Thalpam, Manushyanu Oru Aamukham, Bloody Mary, Vihitham, Madhyeyingane, Kaanunnanerathu and Das Capital.
