C. S. Chandrika is a short story writer, novelist, feminist and academician. She is working as a senior scientist at M. S. Swaminathan Research Foundation Community Agrobiodiversity Centre in Wayanad. She hails from Peringottukara in Thrissur. She holds BA in Botany, MA in Malayalam and Women Studies and PhD in Fine Arts from University of Calicut.
Her other major works include Pira, Ladies Compartmetn, Keralathile Sthree Munnettathinte Charithram, K. Saraswathi Amma, Bhoomiyude Pathaka and Pranaya Kamasoothram. Many of her works have been translated into English, Tamil and Kannada languages.
She won Muthukulam Parvathy Amma Literary Award for her book ‘Aarthavamulla Sthreekal’ in 2010 and Thoppil Ravi Award for ‘Kleptomania’ in 2011. She has also worked with Sakhi Women’s Resource Centre, Centre for Visual and Performing Arts, Kerala University Centre for Women Studies and Pondicherry Central University.
