
Sohaila Abdulali’s op-ed article published in the New York Times in January in 2013 broke readership records. Her bestselling novel ‘The Madwoman of Jogare’ was published by Harper Collins India in 1998. In 2010, Penguin India published her another novel ‘Year of the Tiger’.
She had won two Ford Foundation grants. As part of this, she wrote the children’s book series ‘RangBibi and Langra’ on women’s health in India and another book ‘Bye Bye Mati: A Memoir in a Monsoon Landscape’, about aboriginal people in Western India.
Sohaila’s writing has been published in India, the US, England, South Africa, Australia and Canada. She is a founding board member of Point of View, a women’s media group in Mumbai in India. She is settled in Manhattan.
