A native of Kasaragod, Santhosh Echikkanam is a popular short story writer and a script writer. He is a graduate in Malayalam Literature and has completed PG Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication from Kerala Press Academy.

He has bagged various awards including Kerala Sahitya Akademi award, Karur Birth Centenary Award, Pravasi Basheer Award, Padmarajan Award, Sahithya Parishad Award and State Television Award for best story.

He penned the script of movies like Nidra, Annayum Rasoolum, Bachelor Party, Njan Steve Lopez, Idukki Gold, Chandrettan Evideya, Aby and several television serials.

His noted works are Ottavathil, Kathapathrangalum Pankeduthavarum, Oru Chithrakathayila Nattukkar, Komala, Naranayum Paravayayum, Pakal Swapnathil Veyilukayan vanna oru Nari, Swasam and Biriyani.
