He has won state government award for best film critic, Swaralaya Award for best book on music, and Mushtaq Award for best sports critic. Some of his noted works are Athishayaragam, Mozhikalil Sangeethamayi, Soja Rajakumari, Poornendumukhi and Anantharam Sangeethamunday.
