A proficient classical dancer, Neena Prasad is an exponent of Mohiniyattam. She has been trained in various art and dance forms such as Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Mohiniyattam and Kathakali.

Hailing from Thiruvananthapuram, she is the founder and principal of Bharthanjali Academy of Indian Dances in Thiruvananthapuram and Sougandhika Centre for Mohinyattam in Chennai.

She completed MA in English Literature and PhD from Rabindra Bharati University in Kolkata on the subject ‘The concepts of Lasya and Tandava in the classical dances of South India - A Detailed Study’.

She was also awarded a Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship from the AHRB Research Centre for Cross Cultural Music and Dance Performance of University of Surrey.
