Rajeev Balasubramaniam turned out to be a hero of sorts, for the many number of twitter users around the world who had really long names. It wasn't long ago that twitter was reluctant to accommodate more than 18 letters in their twitter handle.

This meant that some of the users had to deal with their names being  cut short. "I felt disrespected. I kept asking them how would you feel if I called you Twitt?" said Rajeev as he narrated the incident.

His persistence with the demand finally made Twitter budge and change their Twitter handle policy. "Suddenly I started receiving messages from various parts of the world thanking me for my 'fight'." A lot of people around the world identified with the problem.

However, Rajeev finds all this 'silly' and doesn't want to get carried away with the instant fame. "I hope people remember me for much bigger things" he joked.
