Samantha Ruth Prabhu has shared a glimpse of what staying active looks like for her during pregnancy, and this time, the focus is less on pushing herself and more on knowing when to slow down.

The actor posted a series of pictures and workout clips from the gym, along with a note explaining that her training has been adapted for her pregnancy. Samantha, who has been strength training for years, made it clear that her routine is personal and should not be treated as a template for other pregnant women.

Samantha explains how her workouts have changed

In her post, Samantha said she has continued strength training during pregnancy after getting clearance from her doctor. She also revealed that her trainer is certified in prenatal training and that her exercises have been adjusted based on her body, previous training experience and pregnancy.

“A little disclaimer: I’ve strength trained for years and have continued through pregnancy with my doctor’s clearance. My trainer is also certified in prenatal training, and everything you see here is modified for my body, my experience, and my pregnancy.”

She also had a message for anyone looking at her gym videos and wondering if they should try the same exercises.

“Every pregnancy is different, so please don’t use my workouts as a guide for yours. Speak to your doctor and work with someone qualified before exercising during pregnancy.”

That distinction is important, especially when celebrity workout videos can sometimes be mistaken for general fitness advice.

‘Less about pushing harder. More about listening better’

The pictures Samantha shared show a noticeably different approach to training. In one clip, she performs a chest exercise, while text on the video reads, “Training looks a little different these days. Less about pushing harder. More about listening better.”

Another image talks about stopping at 70 per cent of her maximum. Samantha also acknowledged that her energy levels can vary from one day to another.

“Some days I feel strong. Some days I modify.”

And on days when even a full workout is not happening, she is learning to accept that too. One of the pictures shows her lying on the gym floor, accompanied by the line, “Some days the workout is mostly lying on the floor.”

Her overall message was less about maintaining a particular fitness level and more about adjusting to what her body needs at the moment.

“I have spent years training my body to do more. Now I am learning to respect it when it asks me to do less.”

She ended the series on a more emotional note, writing, “Goals are different when you are growing a tiny human, and I think that might be the strongest thing this body has ever done.”

Samantha is currently on a maternity break

Samantha confirmed in June that she and filmmaker Raj Nidimoru are expecting their first child. She also announced that she would be taking a maternity break from work.

The break comes after a busy period for the actor. Samantha was most recently seen in ‘Maa Inti Bangaaram’, which released in June 2026. The film marked her return to a leading role in Telugu cinema after ‘Kushi’ and ‘Shaakuntalam’ in 2023.

She has also continued to keep fans updated during her break. In July, Samantha shared pictures from a trip to Hua Hin, Thailand, with Raj, where she was seen enjoying downtime, wellness activities and exercise.
