Aditi Rao Hydari keeps handing us outfit ideas. First it was the Tod's bag that had everyone zooming into photos. Now it is a pair of red shoes. At Paris Fashion Week, she showed up at the Louboutin show in red pumps that remind us why some styles never need a refresh.

Her outfit was a mix of soft and sharp. She wore a Self-Portrait sheer longline coat covered in embellishment, with plush dark brown faux-fur trim on the lapels and cuffs, layered over light-wash wide-leg jeans. 

Then came the red. She carried Christian Louboutin's Venus Shoulder Bag in Empire red patent calf leather, which is priced at ₹2,26,364. Her pumps were in the same signature red, so bag and shoes spoke the same language without looking forced. When two accessories match this well, you do not need much else. She kept her hair loose with a centre parting and her makeup soft and natural, which let the coat and the red do the talking.

The shoes

The style is La Pigalle, one of the most famous shoes from the Maison. It has a sharply pointed toe and a low-cut front that shows a little more of the foot, which makes the leg look longer. The 100 mm stiletto is very slim, and the whole shape is clean and simple. There are no straps, no buckles and no extra details. The shoe does not try hard, and that is exactly why it looks so good.

The version Aditi wore is made in Empire red patent calf leather. Patent leather has a mirror-like shine, so the red looks deep and rich, and it catches the light with every step. Think of it as a bold lipstick for your feet.

Pretty on the outside, kind on the inside

High heels have a bad reputation for hurting, and Louboutin knows it. La Pigalle comes with a padded insole and a double-layered insole lined in red, so the inside is a little treat too. The sole uses a special coating, called Everlasting Red, which keeps the famous red bottom bright for longer. The brand is honest that the lacquer will still wear down with use. That is normal and not a flaw.

Making them last

A pair this special deserves some care. Wipe the leather with a soft, dry cloth. Keep the shoes away from rain, sunlight and heat. Store them in the dust bag they come in, and stay away from rough surfaces that can scratch the shine.

La Pigalle is part of the winter collection. It runs true to size, so order the size you normally wear. Sizes go from 34 to 43 in European sizing. If 100 mm feels too tame, there is also a 120 mm stiletto. Colours are black and Empire red. The price is ₹1,05,347.76, or $1,095.

Aditi's Paris look proves a simple point. You do not need many pieces to make an outfit memorable. A good coat, relaxed jeans and one strong colour in the right places is enough. If you are going to try the red trend this season, a pair of red pumps is where she would tell you to begin.
