Anshula Kapoor's mehendi look has a hidden meaning, and it's all about Rohan Thakkar's family

As her wedding celebrations with Rohan Thakkar begin, Anshula Kapoor has already delivered one of the standout bridal fashion moments of the season.

For her mehendi ceremony, the bride-to-be chose a custom teal-blue Patola-inspired lehenga by designer Arpita Mehta, revealing that the outfit was a heartfelt tribute to the family she is marrying into.

Sharing glimpses from the celebration on Instagram, Anshula explained the emotional significance behind her ensemble.

"For my mehendi, I wanted my outfit to honour the family I was stepping into. This incredible teal blue lehenga by @arpitamehtaofficial is inspired by the rich legacy of Patola, while beautifully incorporating her signature mirror work - bringing together two crafts that are so deeply intertwined with Gujarat's textile heritage."

She also revealed that the outfit marked an important milestone for the designer. "What makes it even more special? This is @arpita_mehta's very first Patola-inspired bridal lehenga."

A bridal look rooted in Gujarat's textile heritage

Instead of opting for the traditional green or yellow, Anshula embraced a rich teal-blue palette. The custom Arpita Mehta creation featured intricate multicoloured embroidery, signature mirror work and detailed craftsmanship inspired by Gujarat's iconic Patola weaving tradition.

The blouse was adorned with delicate polka-dot patterns, embroidered borders and mirror embellishments, while the flared skirt carried intricate threadwork throughout.

The highlight of the ensemble was the statement dupatta, decorated with geometric Patola-inspired motifs, shimmering embellishments and vibrant shades of gold, pink, turquoise and silver.

Anshula completed her look with striking turquoise jewellery from Amrapali, layering chunky beaded necklaces with a bold pendant, matching earrings and statement rings. Her footwear was from the Arpita Mehta x SKO collaboration.

Keeping the beauty look understated, she opted for glowing skin, softly flushed cheeks, kohl-lined eyes, defined brows and a nude pink lip. Her hair was styled in soft waves with a half-up, half-down hairstyle, finished with loose face-framing strands that added a romantic touch.

Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor planned the entire celebration

While her outfit drew widespread attention, Anshula revealed that the biggest surprise of the day came from her sisters, Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor, who secretly planned the entire mehendi celebration.

Recalling the emotional moment, she wrote: "And while the outfit stole my heart, the day stole my breath! @janhvikapoor and @khushikapoor planned the entire mehendi as a surprise. I knew there was a celebration - I just had no idea what they had dreamt up. Watching it all unfold, surrounded by so much love, is a memory I'll hold onto forever."
