According to a recent global survey by Time Out, Bengaluru has been ranked 17th among the world’s top 20 nightlife cities in 2026, making it the only Indian city on the list. The rankings evaluated factors like quality, affordability, safety, diversity, and social connection through feedback from over 24,000 residents worldwide, alongside input from nightlife experts and editors.

Bengaluru performed strongly in social connection, with 82% of locals agreeing it is easy to connect with others, while 71% praised its nightlife quality. However, affordability scored lower, receiving a cumulative rating of 54%. Street life (55%) and casual bars (50%) proved to be the city’s most popular offerings.

The survey highlighted the expansion of Bengaluru's after-dark scene beyond established hubs like Indiranagar, M.G. Road, and Koramangala into areas like Ulsoor, Rajajinagar, and Whitefield, which offer intimate music venues, cocktails, and jazz. The city's nightlife has also grown more inclusive, driven by a thriving queer scene.

In the global rankings, Bangkok took the top spot, followed by Berlin, New York City, Melbourne, and São Paulo. Seoul ranked 16th, placing just ahead of Bengaluru, while Accra, Singapore, and Mexico City trailed behind. (Compiled)
