Santhanpara (Idukki): Elikutty Paul, an 87-year-old woman of Muttuchira in Kottayam, was on cloud nine as she beheld the Neelakurinji bloom in Idukki’s Kallipara hills. She fulfilled her life-long dream all thanks to her two sons, Rojan and Sathyan.
On learning about their mother’s desire to witness the blooming of Neelakurinji (Strobilanthes kunthiana) flowers, Rojan and Sathyan did not think twice but decided to take her to the purple paradise.
The family travelled in a jeep for around 2.5 kilometres. Afterwards, her sons took Elikuttty on their shoulders and walked 1.5 kilometres up the hill. On reaching the top, the elderly beheld the beauty of the flowers to her heart’s content.
Rojan, who works as a male nurse in a care home in Switzerland, is also a vlogger. Sathyan is an ex-soldier. The trio was accompanied by Rojan’s wife and children too.
