Kozhikode: According to the annual report released by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), Kozhikode is among the top 10 safest cities in the country. The city is ranked 10th in the list, with a rate of recognisable crime (IPC) of 397.5. 

Meanwhile, Kolkata has been named the safest city in India for the third year in a row, with a rate of recognisable crime (IPC) of 78.2. 

Chennai, Coimbatore, Surat, Pune, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, and Mumbai are the other cities in the Top 10 list. These cities have outstanding crime-reduction records, which contributes to their residents' overall sense of security.
