Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala health minister on Friday informed that there is no spike in H3N2 virus cases in the state. She added that the authorities concerned are directed to test the samples collected from patients approaching the hospitals with fever, for Covid-19, leptospirosis and influenza.

The minister however noted that the number of lung-related health issues in the state is showing some spike and officials concerned are directed to take the needful actions.

In the earlier hours of the day, India recorded its first two deaths due to the Influenza A subtype H3N2, one each from Karnataka and Haryana.

Ninety cases of H3N2 have been reported over the last three months, officials said. H3N2 was reported in Kerala too. The health minister’s remarks come at this juncture.
