Kochi: Kerala health department officials have confirmed an H1N1 death in the Ernakulam district on Friday.
The deceased is an 83-year-old woman, hailing from Karumalloor, who tested positive for H1N1 (swine flu) after her death on May 31.
Meanwhile, 12 individuals tested positive for H1N1 in the past 15 days, including three individuals from Pizhala and Cheranalloor natives on Thursday.
Dengue cases also continue to remain high in the district with six deaths being reported in the last three weeks. As per the reports, over 250 people are seeking treatment for dengue in the state every day.
The health department is yet to confirm whether the death of a Kumbalangi native on July 11 was due to the West Nile virus. Though the IGM Antibody confirmed the virus, the subsequent PCR test came out negative.
