
Kannur: Around 25 per cent of people over 30 years of age are suffering from lifestyle diseases in the state. According to a report by the state health department, one in every five persons is prone to lifestyle diseases in Kerala.
According to official data, there are 1.69 crore people aged 30 years and above in the state. Of these, 26 per cent of people are diagnosed with or treated for diseases like high blood pressure and diabetes.
The data was collected through the Kerala government’s ‘Shaili App’, an android application that aims to diagnose and control lifestyle diseases in the state.
