Thiruvananthapuram: With increase in sales of juices during summer, the state food safety department has issued a warning on the use of ice. It is instructed that only fresh water should be used to make ice.
 
Minister of Health Veena George also informed that inspections will be conducted focusing on juice shops and shops selling single-use water bottles. She also informed that strict action will be taken against re-sale of these bottles.
 
Things to keep in mind when using bottled water: 

  •     • Make sure to check for ISI mark
  •     • Make sure the seal is not broken or tampered with
  •     • Ensure seals are not broken while buying water in large cans
  •     • Do not buy, consume or carry bottled water or soft drinks that are exposed to sunlight. These may cause health issues
