Fish is a delicacy in Kerala but is more or less unavailable in the state following lockdown to prevent the spread of coronavirus pandemic. Here is how to make fish curry without fish.
Ingredients
- Tomato: 250 grams
- Shallot: 150 grams
- Garlic: 50 grams
- Ginger: 10 grams
- Curry leaves: 3 sprigs
- Fenugreek: 1/4 teaspoon
- Coriander powder: 1/2 teaspoon
- Tamarind water: 20 ml
- Salt: As per taste
- Turmeric powder: 1/4 teaspoon
- Dried red chilli: 100 grams
- Coconut oil: As per requirement
Preparation
Finley slice the tomato, shallots, ginger, garlic and curry leaves. Grind the dried red chilli into a paste. Put a pan on low heat and add a little bit of oil in it. Then add the chilli paste, turmeric powder, salt, coriander powder and tamarind water into it. Mix well. Once the liquid heats up, add the sliced vegetables. Once the vegetables are thoroughly cooked, take it off the heat. Heat up some oil in another pan and fry some shallots, curry leaves and fenugreek. Then add the fried items to the tomatoes and mix well. Ready to serve.
