Kozhikode: The winners of the OV Vijayan Memorial Awards for the year 2023 have been announced. Writer KP Ramanunni has bagged the ‘Kadhapuraskaram’ (story award) award. V Shinilal clinched the ‘Novelpuraskaram’ (novel award), while Jinsha Ganga received the ‘Yuvakadhapuraskaram’, (youth story award). Harikrishnan Thachadan received a Special Jury Mention for the ‘Yuvakadhapuraskaram’.
KP Ramanunni's 'Shareeradooram' and 'Haindavam' were recognized for the awards. V Shinilal's novel '124' and Jinsha Ganga's story 'Thetta' were awarded the respective recognitions. Harikrishnan's 'Pathummayude Veedu' received the Special Jury Mention.
The awards include a prize of Rs 25,000, along with a citation and plaque for the short story and novel categories. For the ‘Yuvakadha’ category, the prize comprises Rs 10,000, a citation, and a plaque.
The awards are instituted by the ‘OV Vijayan Smaraka Samithi’ in Palakkad's Thasrak, operating under the Department of Cultural Affairs.
