Thiruvananthapuram: Filmmaker Adoor Gopalakrishnan and renowned psychologist Dr CJ John have been selected for this year's P Kesavadev Literary and Diabscreen Kerala Awards respectively. The P Keshavadev Trust announced the names on Tuesday. 

 Adoor Gopalakrishnan has been honoured with the literary award for his screenplay work, while renowned psychologist Dr C J John is to receive the Diabscreen award.

Both awards come with a cash prize of Rs 50,000 along with a citation and plaque crafted by B D Dethan. Jyothydev Kesavadev, Managing Trustee of the Trust, made the announcement during a press conference, revealing that the awards will be bestowed upon the recipients at the upcoming P Kesavadev Memorial Ceremony on the evening of June 12 at P Kesavadev Hall.
