Thiruvananthapuram: The government has given an accord to colleges concerned to admit students to engineering programs, even if they have not written Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical (KEAM) exam. This move comes in response to the appeal made by private-management colleges, citing numerous seats remaining vacant every year.
This kind of admission will be applicable only to those seats that remain unoccupied after the allotment procedures of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE) are completed. The admission will be given on the basis of plus two marks.
This edict is pertinent to government-aided colleges as well.
The decision comes following the discussion between Minister R Bindu and college management representatives regarding the issue.
