Wadia Institute Of Himalayan Geology (WIHG), an Autonomous Institution of Department of Science & Technology, Government of India, 33, General Mahadeo Singh Road, Dehradun, undertaking advanced-level research in all aspects of the Geology and Geodynamics of Himalaya, has invited applications for 4 positions of Research Associates (RA) which are temporary/contractual tenured positions.

RA should be those who wish to work in the following aspects of Himalayan Geosciences (i) Paleoclimatology, Tree-ring analysis, Dendroclimatology (ii) Mineralogy, Fluid Inclusion, Mantle Petrology, Subduction & Collisional Geodynamics (iii) Seismotectonics, Interior of the Earth (iv) Low-temperature Thermochronology, Thermo-kinematic Modelling, U-Pb Geochronology of zircon (v) Vertebrate paleontology and Biostratigraphy.

Eligibility: Applicants should be with 1st class in M.Sc., M.Tech or M.Sc. (Tech) in or any allied field of Geoscience suiting to the WIHG’s research domain as mentioned in the Notification and who have submitted their Ph.D thesis or have been awarded doctoral degree in the field of Geosciences with minimum three good publication record in SCI journals with at least one as lead author. Documents regarding thesis submission/doctoral degree must be included in the application.

Age Limit for Research Associate is 35 Years. Date of Age will be reckoned on 1st April of the year of application. Age relaxation is admissible as per Govt. of India Rules.

Consolidated Salary will be Rs. 61,000/- + HRA (As applicable)

Selected candidates for the position of Research Associate will draw their fellowship from the Institute. Emoluments will be as per guidelines of DST as amended from time to time.
