The document will inform students of their allotted exam city, allowing them to make travel and accommodation arrangements before the admit card is issued

New Delhi: Candidates preparing for the NEET UG 2026 re-examination are awaiting the release of the city intimation slip, one of the key documents issued before the admit card.
The re-exam is scheduled to be held on June 21 after authorities decided to conduct a fresh test following allegations of a question paper leak in the original examination.
NEET UG 2026 was conducted nationwide on May 3. However, reports of paper leaks from certain examination centres surfaced shortly afterwards, prompting officials to cancel the test for affected candidates and announce a re-examination.
City intimation slip likely to be released this week
The city intimation slip informs candidates about the city where their examination centre will be located. While it does not serve as an admit card, it helps students and their families make travel and accommodation arrangements in advance, particularly when the allotted centre is outside their hometown.
Based on a similar timeline, candidates can expect the city slip for the June 21 re-exam to be released around June 7 or June 8, although the NTA has not yet announced an official date.
Why the city intimation slip is important
The document gives candidates an early indication of where they will be required to appear for the examination.
This allows students to:
- Plan travel arrangements in advance
- Book accommodation if required
- Estimate travel time to the examination centre
- Avoid last-minute confusion before the test
The exact examination centre details will be mentioned later on the admit card.
