The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has invalidated the NEET PG results of 22 candidates, citing malpractice and a directive from the court.

Of these, 21 candidates were disqualified for using unfair means during the examination process, while the result of one candidate was annulled following an order by the Karnataka High Court.

This development comes as the NEET PG 2025 counselling is expected to begin in the third week of October, as confirmed by the Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) via X.

According to NBEMS, 13 candidates from the current year (2025) have had their results permanently cancelled, while the remaining nine belong to earlier exam cycles — specifically, the years 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024.

Why were the results cancelled?

The Examination Ethics Committee of NBEMS conducted a probe and determined that 21 of the candidates had engaged in dishonest practices during the conduct of the exam. Their results have been revoked, and their candidature stands permanently terminated.

Apart from that, one candidate’s result was withheld due to an ongoing legal matter in the Karnataka High Court.

The board has made it clear that the scorecards of all these candidates, whether from this year or previous years, are no longer valid for postgraduate admissions, employment opportunities, or any higher education.

This action, NBEMS stated, is in line with efforts to uphold the integrity and fairness of national medical entrance examinations.
