National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), an Institute of National Importance, Bengaluru-560 029, has invited applications for filling up one post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF), on contract basis for the SERB funded project under Dr. Viswanathan LG, Assistant Professor and Principal Investigator, Department of Neurology, NIMHANS.

Essential Qualification: Applicant should hold M.Sc. in Life Sciences (Genetics/Biochemistry/Zoology/Biotechnology/Molecular Biology/ Neurosciences or related subjects)/ M.Tech in Biotechnology/ Genetic Engineering with experience in methods/tools/techniques used in genetics research. Applicant should also have qualified a national level exam conducted by CSIR/ UGC or equivalent.

Desired Qualification: Those with prior experience in processing of blood samples, nucleic acid extraction, DNA sequencing, Gene Expression, ELISA, Multiplex Suspension Assay, and recording as well as analysis of clinical data will be preferred.

Maximum age limit will be 28 years. Age relaxation will be given for exceptionally meritorious candidates.

Emoluments: Rs. 31,000/- plus 24% HRA p.m.

Duration of the post is 2 years. Initial appointment will be made for a period of one year, which will be extendable every 12 months or till the end of the project depending upon the performance of the candidate.
