New Delhi: The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) has officially announced the results for the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) Class 6 today, March 17, 2026. The results pertain to the Phase 1 (Summer Bound) entrance exams conducted earlier this year.

Thousands of students across the country can now verify their selection status for admission into the prestigious residential schools for the 2026-27 academic session.

How to Access the Merit List

Students and parents can check the results through the following official channels:

  • Online Portal: Results are live on the official website navodaya.gov.in.
  • Login Credentials: To view individual scorecards, users must enter the candidate’s Roll Number and Date of Birth.
  • Offline Display: Selection lists are also being dispatched to the offices of the District Magistrate, District Education Officer, and the notice boards of respective local JNVs.

Next Steps for Selected Candidates

Qualifying for the entrance exam is the first step in the admission process. Parents of shortlisted candidates should note:

  1. Document Verification: Selection is provisional. Proof of residence, age, and school studies (Classes 3, 4, and 5) in the same district will be strictly verified.
  2. Medical Examination: Candidates must clear a basic medical fitness test conducted by the Vidyalaya.
  3. Communication: While results are online, the NVS typically sends formal intimation to selected students via Speed Post and SMS on registered mobile numbers.

Phase 2 Update

For regions where the JNVST is scheduled for April 11, 2026 (Winter Bound areas), the results are expected to be released by late May 2026.

Education experts remind parents that the JNVST is highly competitive, with a limited number of seats (usually 80 per JNV) available per district.
