Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi, Kamand, Himachal Pradesh-175075, has invited applications for a Summer internship of one to two months duration (May-July 2026).

The Programme aims at introducing undergraduate and postgraduate students to research so as to enthuse them and to get them interested in a career in teaching and research.

This residential programme combines hands-on research training with a variety of hardware and software analysis tools.

Minimum duration of internship is one month and maximum two months.

The programme is open only for students from those Institute(s)/College(s)/Universities who have signed MoU (s) with IIT Mandi. The list of such institutes is available at the link given in the Internship Brochure at https://academics.iitmandi.ac.in/internships

The interns are expected to work under the mentorship of IIT Mandi faculty members in different areas. Guides and Research Areas Available for Internship in Summer 2026 will be from the following Centres/Schools: Centres Artificial Intelligence and Robotics; Quantum Science and Technologies; Human Computer Interaction; School: Biosciences & Bioengineering, Chemical Sciences; Civil & Environmental Engineering; Computing and Electrical Engineering; Humanities & Social Sciences; Management; Mathematical & Statistical Sciences; Mechanical and Materials Engineering, Physical Sciences; Indian Knowledge System and Mental Health Application. Applicants need to specify the proposed area of work of the potential supervisor.

Eligibility: Applicants should be Pre-final (3rd year) students of Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology or Pre-final (1st year) students of Postgraduate Courses.

Selected interns will be supported financially at Rs. 10,000/- per month. Travel and living expenses will have to be borne by the intern.

Screening of interns will be done by the schools/centres based on the credentials of applicants. Shortlisting and selection criteria may be different for different schools and centres. Selected students will be informed through email.

Selected candidates will have to arrange a letter of recommendation/NOC from their Institute.
