The Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), operating under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, has established its first regional campus in New Shillong Township, Meghalaya. This landmark development was announced on Tuesday, signifying a pivotal step towards fostering inclusive national growth and enhancing regional capacity within India's strategically important Northeast.

The new campus is backed by a substantial ₹100.95-crore investment under the Prime Minister's Development Initiative for North-East (PM-DevINE). It is set to function as a regional hub, offering specialised training, conducting research, and providing policy advisory services across critical domains. These include Corporate Governance, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Insolvency and Bankruptcy, and Competition Law. This initiative aligns with national priorities such as promoting Ease of Doing Business and contributing to 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' and 'Vikshit Bharat @ 2047'.

Shri Gyaneshwar Kumar Singh, Director General & CEO of IICA, described the Shillong campus as 'our first baby outside Delhi—a symbol of decentralisation and empowerment'. He added that the initiative 'resonates deeply with our Prime Minister's mantra of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas'', and represents a 'Transformation by Transportation,' where infrastructure and knowledge institutions together pave the way for peace, prosperity, and purpose'. The Chief Secretary of Meghalaya also highlighted the state's commitment to 'knowledge-led growth'.
